One of the greatest blessings is our “eyesight”. We often ignore this blessing and are unthankful to it. In this era of technology, our eyes are a continuous strain. We stare screens for so long. It is the need of this age but besides there is also a need for ways to improve eyesight. It is a common pattern that in adult age, people suffer from eyesight issues but because of the technological era, every other kid is indulged in eyesight issues.

1. Eat Foods for Eyes
There are various foods which are good for your eyesight. Vitamin A is good for the immune system, bone growth and eyesight. It is important for the health of the cornea. Vitamin A maintains the health of membranes, helps eyes and skin to prevent bacteria and viruses thus reduces the risks of infections. It is also essential for maintaining the health of rods. So, to improve eyesight it is recommended to eat vitamin A-rich foods. Carrots are rich in vitamin A. To eat carrots on empty stomach improve eyesight. Besides carrots, sweet potatoes, kale and spinach are rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A deficiency is rare in the United States but is more prevalent in developing countries. The first sign of vitamin A deficiency is night blindness. Other foods which improve eyesight are walnuts, black pepper, fish oil, vitamin E supplements.
2. Eye Exercises
Eyes have muscles and we adjust our sight by adjusting the muscles. Thus, muscles are in a state of continuous strain. So, normally we should perform exercises to relax and strengthen the eye muscles. Exercises are effective when performed in the morning. It allows muscles to relax. Warm your eyes by rubbing palm. Then roll your eyes in every direction at least thrice. It would help the muscles to develop properly. You will feel the difference in a month. Also, increase your focus by focusing on a particular object for at least one minute. A gentle massage with olive or coconut oil is also very effective in improving eyesight.
3. Reduce Screen time
Digital screens are a major reason by which eyesight issues even at young ages are aggravating. By excessive screen time, eyes become dry and there is a huge strain on muscles. It also affects the blinking rate. Screens of devices release radiations which are not good for eye health. The radio waves from mobile phones and television screens inflate the eye tissues ultimately increasing the risk of serious eye diseases. Doctors recommend that screen time for children should be 45 minutes daily. Prolonged screen time reduces their attention span, affects their eyesight and shrinks brain tissues. For adults as well, doctors recommend

Besides issues of eyesight, digital screens have also increased hypertension, aggression and brain issues.
4. Ensure Better Visual Environment
You better eyesight, it is necessary to ensure good visuals around. Try not to stare at faraway places. Ensure that there is no such colour in your surrounding which puts a strain on your eyesight. While using a mobile or laptop, use bigger fonts, these facilitate the eyes to relax. Avoid reading and writing activities in dim light. Stare at the sun at dawn. Sun radiates some special type of red wavelengths which are very beneficial for the eyes. Don’t use a mobile phone or computer in dim light. Avoid usage of mobile at night. Get enough sleep. Sleep helps to relax the eyes thus improve eyesight.
There are many other ways through which we can improve eyesight. There are small factors which are deleterious of eye health. These are profoundly ignored. So, it is necessary, to look for the things which are damaging your eyesight. Adopt a healthy lifestyle. Go for eye checkups every 6 month. Eyesight is a crucial component of our body because once gone, can’t be retrieved.
